Objective: TSW will review the components of experimental design: “Scientific Method”
Students will review each step in the scientific method and an example of each step.
Students will also have a brief review of basic scientific tools and uses of each.
Homework: puzzle worksheet - due Tuesday
8/25/09 - Tuesday
Objective: Students will review steps of the scientific method and basic lab safety procedures and apply their knowledge by reviewing experiments from Bikini Bottom “Sponge Bob & Friends” and identifying correct and incorrect scientific process and lab safety procedures.
Students will work with partners to complete experiment worksheet.
8/26//09 - Wednesday
Objective: TSW access internet information using a webquest, on the components of appropriate use of control and standardized variables in experimental design.
Students will work independently to complete webquest worksheet in the computer lab. - due end of class.
8/27/09 - Thursday
Objective: Students will apply knowledge of the experimental components control and variables as they review and identify each from lab procedure descriptions.
Students will work with a partner to identify the control and variables in 3 different descriptions of experiments.
8/28/09 - Friday
Objective(s): TSW review and practice how to compare scientific data using mean, median, mode and range.
Students will construct a foldable with each process, including instructions and examples.
