Monday: 11/30/09 - Students will review/prepare for test on "Number Theory and Fractions."
Use math folders and work with a partner to review; then, complete Chapter Review on
pgs. 162-163. Homework is to study for the test.
Tuesday: 12/1/09 - Students will be assessed over materials in unit over "Number Theory
and Fractions." Complete unit test during class. No homework.
Wednesday: 12/2/09 - Find equivalent fractions and compare/order fractions. Teacher will
model how to solve an open response involving ordering ingredients in a recipe. Then,
students will work with a partner to solve a similar open response. No homework.
Thursday: 12/3/09 - No class changes due to field trip to see A Christmas Carol.
Friday: 12/4/09 - Estimate sums and differences. Look at fraction circles and estimate.
Then, practice rounding fractions to 0, 1/2, or 1. "Numbered Heads Together" to practice.
In-class assignment will be to complete Reteaching WB pg. 4-1.
Monday: 11/23/09 - Write decimals as fractions and write fractions as decimals. Students take notes
in math folder as teacher models. Then, students do guided practice with and without the calculators
and complete Reteaching WB pg. 3-8. "Appointment Clock" to practice. No homework.
Tuesday: 11/24/09 - Name coordinates (ordered pairs) and graph points. Practice graphing points.
"Pair Share" to review. Students will graph points that will be a picture of a turkey when they finish.

Monday: 11/16/09 - Find equivalent fractions and write fractions in simplest form. "Partner Talk" to
review lesson from last week, then complete Reteaching/Practice WB pg. 3-4. Homework is to finish
any unfinished classwork.
Tuesday: 11/17/09 - Write mixed numbers and improper fractions. Go over models and record
examples in math folder. Use marker boards to practice writing improper fractions/mixed numbers.
"Numbered Heads Together" activity to practice. Homework is Reteaching WB pg. 3-5.
Wednesday: 11/18/09 - Find the greatest common factor, equivalent fractions, simplest form, and
least common multiple using the "Learning Expedition" program in computer lab. No homework.
Thursday: 11/19/09 - Find the least common multiple. Take notes in math folder as teacher models
how to list multiples, find common multiple, and then least common multiple. "Concept Sort" activity to
practice. Homework is Reteaching WB pg. 3-6.
Friday: 11/20/09 - Compare and order fractions. Use models to compare and take notes in folder.
"Pair Share" as students work with partner to complete Reteaching WB pg. 3-7 for practice.
No homework.
