November 30 - Dec. 4   Next book to be completed by Dec. 9  Assessment will be on characterization and theme of the self selected book.

Monday --  Focus: Practice a variety of reading strategies through Reader's Workshop; retell through summarizing  

Tuesday -- Focus: to give students an opportunity to create a list of titles they may want to read through a Book Pass 

Wednesday -- Focus:  1. backgroung of the original Charles Dickens' "Christmas Carol"  and  read a review of the  movie version we will see the next day.  2. Library to ck. out books and read.  I WILL BE CONFERENCING BRIEFLY WITH EACH STUDENT ON THE BOOK THEY ARE CURRENTLY READING. 

Thursday -- Field trip to see movie 

Friday -- Focus:  theme of  a story.  Notes in folder w/ definition, examples, etc.  Teacher read aloud to model.
